An MBA from Boston University, Rohit worked in Forex banking in London for 2 years before joining Contract in 1990.
Besides heading the strategic planning function for Contract nationally, Rohit leads Core Consulting, the marketing & strategic consulting division of Contract. The range of assignments for Core Consulting include brand positioning, marketing strategy & plans, portfolio planning, service benchmarking, business models, mix development, innovation & NPD projects & marketing training.
Over the years, Rohit has worked closely with clients over a wide portfolio including Cadbury, Dominos, Shoppers Stop, Asian Paints, HSBC, Marico, Franklin Templeton, Louis Philippe, NIIT, ICICI Bank & HDFC Bank.
He is on the Advisory Board of TRRAIN; a not-for-profit trust that works towards the betterment of the retail sector and Expat Properties India Limited; a group with interests in real estate, construction & engineering projects, sports & leisure and media.
He has been a guest faculty at management institutes like IIM & SP Jain and has conducted training programs for many companies including Cadbury, Marico, Dabur and HSBC, the latter across Asia Pacific. He has also published three white papers that have been awarded the Atticus Merit Certificates, the global WPP recognition for original published thinking. He has been a member of the Effies Jury in India & on the global Effies Jury.
Ayan Chakraborty brings with him a deep understanding of the business both from a strategic and a creative lens. His understanding of digital and design has also helped him shape the communication strategy for the businesses that he has built over the years.
With more than two decades of experience in building brands and categories in India and South Asia, Ayan is a seasoned professional, in both brand management and advertising. He brings with him the rich experience of having worked across diverse categories like Tobacco, Hair & Skin Care, Telecom, Jewellery, Cement, Steel, Paint, Banking & NBFCs, FMCG, Retail, Media and Entertainment. He has worked in India and Bangladesh and has handled brands in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Before moving to Contract, Ayan was the Business Head for the ITC business in Wunderman Thompson. Apart from working on some leading national cigarette brands he was also responsible for launching and nurturing Engage Deodorants & Perfumes during this stint.
Ayan has also spent a part of his career working on the client side of the business, with Airtel.
